On June 24, 2016, the U.S. and Russian governments agreed to a ten year extension of the Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Russian Federation on Science and Technology Cooperation of December 16, 1993. The extension of this important bilateral Agreement will enable Russian and U.S. scientists to continue cooperation on a variety of scientific areas, including seismology, cancer research, and HIV/AIDS research.
