The plane carrying UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld while on a peace mission in the Congo in 1961 crashed shortly before landing in Ndola, Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia. In 2014, the UN General Assembly agreed to reopen the inquiry into the cause of the accident. There followed a sequence of events fully chronicled on the Hammarskjold Inquiry news pages curated by Westminster UNA.

Conference: Speakers will set out the landscape in which the UN inquiry has had to work, the obstacles it has faced, and identify those issues which deserve further and urgent attention. Jan Eliasson will address the conference remotely and engage in a Q & A session moderated by Ian Martin. Läs om mötet
