On May 27, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden Ann Linde at her initiative.
The diplomats discussed in detail issues of bilateral relations with an emphasis on promoting practical cooperation, primarily, in the trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian areas. It has been agreed that Russia and Sweden will continue their effective cooperation in multilateral regional formats in the north of Europe and the Arctic, in part, during Russia’s forthcoming presidency in the Arctic Council in 2021 ̶ 2023.
The ministers reviewed the regular ministerial meeting of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), which was held via video conference on May 19 of this year.
