[…] Ukrainian officials have used US intelligence in an ongoing counteroffensive that resulted in gains against Russian forces in the northeastern Kharkiv region. The New York Times cited unnamed senior US officials as saying that Kiev stepped up intelligence-sharing with Washington before the operation that started Thursday. The report says the US provided Ukraine with information about Russian military positions and their weaknesses.
Kiev claims its recent offensive has led to liberation of some three-thousand square kilometers of territory. Russia has also confirmed the drawdown of some of its forces from the area. It says it is regrouping troops to bolster efforts along the Donetsk front. Russia has frequently warned the US against providing weapons and sharing intelligence with Ukraine, saying Washington risks becoming a party to the conflict. Se videon
